In the early 1990s my interests began to actively include visual anthropology. Research in China and Indonesia resulted in two films. East Meets West: Traditional and Orthodox Medicine, which I wrote, filmed, narrated, and co-edited was a winner at a UCLA film festival.
The Balian of Klungkung, which I also wrote, filmed, narrated, and co-edited was later a finalist at the UCLA festival.
